Head Professor

Huanderson Pavao

Lineage:

Mitsuyo Maeda > Luiz França > Oswaldo Fadda > Monir Salomão > Julio Cesar Pereira > Huanderson Pavao

Huanderson Pavao was born on the 31st of August, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. When he was 17 years old he started practicing “Luta Livre Esportiva” a form of submission wrestling enrooted in Brazilian culture. His coach was the also famous Eugenio Tadeu.

The Luta Livre gym was far away from his house, and after a while the long commute was no longer something Pavao could live with. He started looking for alternatives, but no Luta Livre academies were available close to him. Due to his friendship with Jiu Jitsu fighters who trained close by in a gym at Méier (“Paulinho” and Eduardo “Escopeta“) Huanderson decided to give the gi work a try.

He then joined the Gama Filho team (today called GFTeam), and studied Jiu Jitsu under the legendary Mestre Julio César Pereira, Huanderson Pavao got offered a scholarship at the University to study law, and chose to finish his course rather then a career as a cage fighter.

After receiving his black belt in December 2002, Pavao dedicated a lot of his life to his academic degree. After that he spent a while in Europe (coaching) before returning to Brazil to train and coach at his team GFTeam.
Today Pavao displays his vast Gi and Nogi expertise all around the world.

Coach

Hiago

My name is Coach Hiago, I began my journey in martial arts at the age of 10, motivated by my desire to overcome my weight issues. Over the years, I trained in various disciplines such as judo, muay thai, capoeira, karate, and boxing, but it was jiu-jitsu that truly resonated with me. As I progressed and earned my purple belt at the age of 18, I decided to pursue jiu-jitsu full-time and even relocated to GFteam Paulínia – SP under the guidance of Alexanderson Silva. With a renewed focus on competition, I diligently trained and was soon awarded my black belt after just three months of intensive training under master Gabriel Rainho at GFteam Berlin. In September, I made the brave decision to travel to the United States to compete in jiu-jitsu tournaments and continue to test my limits.

Mayara Ribeiro

My name is Coach Mayara Moreira, and I am an experienced black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a professional athlete of GFTEAM Paulínia. Over the last 10 years, I have won numerous championships, including 2x European weight champion and absolute IBJJF, 2x absolute Brazilian champion IBJJF, and South American champion vici in the grand slam Abu Dhabi AJP tour. I have traveled extensively, teaching classes and giving seminars in various countries, including living in Pakistan for two years, where I taught Jiu-Jitsu at UFC GYM. As a teacher, I work with students of all ages, starting from my blue belt under the supervision of my teachers. From a young age, I have been passionate about Jiu-Jitsu and have dedicated my life to learning and improving my techniques. I started with MMA at the age of 12 and had my first amateur fight at 15. After an injury, I transitioned to No-gi and then to Jiu-Jitsu, which I fell in love with immediately. With only one year of my black belt, I decided to make Jiu-Jitsu my sole focus. I am confident in my abilities and believe that my experience and knowledge could bring value to any organization. In the future, I hope to continue growing and evolving in my Jiu-Jitsu journey, inspiring others along the way.
